AGUILAR Felipe

Felipe Aguilar

Chile (CHI)

Having been introduced to the game by his grandfather, Alfredo Schuler, who built a number of golf courses in Chile after emigrating from Germany, Aguilar won more than 30 events in his home country early in his professional career. Educated at the University of North Florida, not far from US PGA Tour headquarters, where he studied international business, he was forced to change his swing in 2004 when he broke a bone in his back, which took five months to heal. Had an unsuccessful rookie season on the European Tour in 2006 when he failed to keep his card. However, he bounced back to win twice on the 2007 European Challenge Tour. Won twice in European Tour-Asian Tour sanctioned events in Indonesia and Singapore. He already has golf medals to his name, having won gold in the 2014 South American Games in Chile and silver in the 2015 Pan American Games in Canada.
