Sports plays a prominent role in his family, with his sister, Melodie, playing on the Ladies European Tour, cousin Nicolas Beaufils has played on the European Challenge Tour and another cousin has represented France in equestrianism. However, golf was his particular preference, and Bourdy, starting to play at age four. Even now, other sports are part of his daily life as he plays tennis, badminton and squash. He is also an avid watcher of all sports.
