Born and raised in Mexico City, she began playing golf at the age of six years old. Quickly moved through the rankings and became a five-time Mexican Junior National champion and a member of the 2008 Mexican team at the World Amateur Team Championships. Played college golf at the University of Arizona and was named Rookie of the Year in 2007. After turning pro, she won the 2011 Cactus Tour event at Wigwam and was a member of the Symetra Tour, winning her first title in 2015 which helped secure her LPGA Tour card for 2016.
