Sei Young Kim

KOR

  • T25 at 2016 Rio Olympics
  • As well as being a highly proficient golfer, Kim is also a third degree black belt in Taekwondo. Joined the LPGA of Korea Tour shortly after turning professional but initially gained only moderate success. However, in 2013, she broke through with three wins and followed that up with two more in 2014.
  • One of the longest drivers on tour, Kim won the first event by making a spectacular eagle on the final hole. She switched to the LPGA Tour and has taken less than two seasons to match her five wins in her native Korea.
  • Kim has an unrivalled play-off record, in that she is 3-0 in ‘extra time’ and won her first two titles on the LPGA Tour courtesy of play-offs. Additionally, she has never scored worse than a birdie in sudden death, twice winning with a birdie and once with an eagle.
