Peter Dawson

Born in Aberdeen (Scotland) in 1948 of Scots parents, Peter Dawson graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge in 1969 with an MA degree in Engineering and Business Studies. His subsequent business career in engineering has provided over 25 years’ experience at Chief Executive level in large private and public companies operating within the British Isles and Europe. Peter Dawson was appointed Secretary of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and Chief Executive of the R&A in May 1999 and retired in October 2015. He was appointed President of the International Golf Federation (IGF) in December 2010.

Peter is married to Juliet and has 2 children, 4 grandchildren.
