The third edition of the summer YOG took place in Buenos Aires between 6 and 18 October 2018.

  • Men's and Women's Individual: starting on the 9th October and finishing on the 11th October, with the Individual Stroke Play Victory Ceremony.
  • Mixed Gender Team: starting on the 13th and finishing on the 15th October 2018, with the Mixed Team Victory Ceremony.


The Argentine capital’s historic Hurlingham Club welcomed 64 of the finest junior golfers (32 male and 32 female) from around the world for three events – the men’s and women’s individual 54-hole stroke play tournaments and the 72-hole mixed gender team event.

    Ranking, Participants and Competition format

    The full 2018 Youth Olympic Games Qualification system was defined in October 2017: based on this system, twenty-seven NOCs/ IGF National Federation Members (NFMs) received qualification places for the event, plus five through the Universality Places.     Buenos Aires 2018 in numbers

    • 32 men and 32 women from 33 countries
    • 68 - the lowest round recorded in the men’s tournament, shot by Karl Vilips (round two), Ryo Hisatsune (round two), Václav Tichý (round three) and Jerry Ji (round three)
    • 68 - Alessia Nobilio’s opening-round 68 was the lowest score in the women’s tournament
    • -12 - the winning score of Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul and Vanchai Luangnitikul in the mixed team event
    • 57 - Italian pair Alessia Nobilio and Andrea Romano combined to shoot a better-ball 57 in the opening round of the mixed team event – the lowest score of the tournament
    • 2 - USA’s Akshay Bhatia was the only player to win two medals, winning silver in both the men’s tournament and the mixed team event
    • 1 - Andrea Romano, of Italy, hit a hole-in-one on the ninth hole of the opening round of the mixed team event
