Responsibilities and operations of the Food & Beverage team, including details on service levels and menus for all populations

[/et_heading][vc_separator 0=""][vc_empty_space 0=""][vc_column_text 0=""]A well-balanced offering of products in both the venue and the Olympic Village is critical to maximizing the stakeholder experience: offering proper variety (in terms of type of food for each meal of the day) and healthy products is a key part of the Olympic Games organizing strategy.

A few important points to be considered during planning phases for each client type:

Athletes: due to the length of the Golf competition, athletes are used to having a nourishing breakfast (including hot breakfast items) before or after their warm-up session prior to competition. It is therefore essential that athletes are provided with breakfast on venue. Menus for the athletes, as well as the Village menus are to be approved by the IGF.

Olympic Family: the menus of the meals served at the Olympic Family Lounges will be jointly approved by the IOC and IGF. In Rio, the peak day of presence was the men’s final. Refer also to section on OF-IGF Lounge.

Workforce lounge: ensure the possibility for IF staff, technical officials and Golf Equipment Technicians to have access to the workforce lounge, through the purchase of meal vouchers. The process for meal voucher purchase should be communicated to the IGF in advance and allow for flexibility (eg last minute requests) on site during the Games.

As an example, the information below outlines the operations from the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. Tokyo 2020 provided a first plan of the Food and Beverage Venue services in July 2018 and a Concept of Food and Beverage service in December 2018. Updated information will be integrated within this VOP:

The following table will be updated by Tokyo 2020 to outline Food and Beverage (FNB) services, in compliance with the requirements above and those contained in the IGF Stakeholder Services Matrix, found in the section on Client Services.

The Venue Catering Contractor is due to be appointed in October 2018.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width="1/12"][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=".vc_custom_1497619878503{padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;}"][vc_column_inner width="11/12"][vc_column_text 0=""]
