Jeunghun Wang

Korea (KOR)

Completed back-to-back victories on the European Tour with a one-shot triumph at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open earlier in 2016, just a week after his breakthrough victory in Morocco. He became the youngest player at 20 years and 263 days to win consecutive events on the European Tour. Enjoyed a stellar season in 2014 where he didn’t miss a single cut in 16 Asian Tour events and captured the inaugural PGA TOUR China Series’ tournament, the Mission Hills Haikou Open by a record 10 strokes. He finished one rung from qualifying for the 2016 EurAsia Cup but was selected as a captain’s pick to represent Team Asia. He contributed half a point in his debut in the team match-play event. Known as one of the best ball strikers in Asia, he has lived in the Philippines for six years when he was a junior golfer as it was, as he says, “cheaper” for his golf career. His close affinity with the country has seen him do well in all Asian Tour events staged in the Philippines since 2013.
