Proved why he is widely regarded as a future Chinese sporting superstar by becoming only the second successive home winner of the historic event. It was all the more special for the man from Hunan as he had won a Volvo China Junior event six years previously while the Volvo China Open had been the first professional tournament he played, as an amateur, in 2011. He won three times on the PGA Tour China in 2014, taking Player of the Year honors and earning status on the 2015 Web.com Tour. He has split his time between the Web. com Tour and the European Tour after he earned full European status courtesy of his victory in Beijing.
