First took up the game at 12 when his mother, Meg, upgraded the family’s country club membership to include golf. He and his father, Pete, a keen tennis player who was once ranked No. 1 in doubles in the state of Florida, were both soon hooked on the game. Made rapid progress through the amateur ranks before winning the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1997 – following three consecutive victories by Tiger Woods. The following year, he received the Fred Haskins Award given to America’s leading collegiate golfer. Met his wife, Sybi, during their time together at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. In 2009, the pair teamed to win the consolation title in the United States Tennis Association’s National Husband & Wife Doubles Championship, held at the ATP Headquarters in Florida. Owns seven PGA Tour titles during his career.
