Inbee Park and Caroline Huyskes elected to
International Golf Federation Board
LAUSANNE, Switzerland (Monday, 15 December 2025) - Inbee Park of South Korea and Caroline Huyskes of The Netherlands have been elected to the Board of the International Golf Federation (IGF), the IGF announced today. Park and Huyskes will serve in their roles through 2027 and 2031, respectively.
The IGF Board is composed of 10 members who are appointed by their respective federations to govern the IGF, maintaining a strategic focus in its governance of golf.
Via their appointments, Park and Huyskes will also serve on the IGF Administrative Committee. The Administrative Committee is responsible for the approval of National Federation Membership, the oversight of the organisation of the golf competition at the Youth Olympic Games and the World Amateur Team Championships and the financing of the IGF's activities undertaken by the Administrative Committee. The Committee also oversees the interaction between National Federation Members and National Olympic Committees.
“As we look towards the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics and the debut of our Mixed-Team format, we are thrilled to welcome Inbee and Caroline to the IGF Board,” said IGF Executive Director Antony Scanlon. “Golf’s return to the Olympics has been a tremendous success over the last three iterations of the games, and I know their passion, insight and experience will be invaluable to the Board as we continue to promote the game globally and further golf’s Olympic movement.”
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Park moved to the United States at age 12 and quickly established herself as one of the most dominant players in junior golf, winning the 2002 U.S. Junior Championship. At 17, she turned professional and won the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open at just 19 years old – making her the youngest champion at the time. Over the next decade, Park would capture seven major championships and complete the career Grand Slam in 2015 with her victory at the Women’s British Open. In addition, following her gold-medal performance at the 2016 Rio Olympics, she became the first golfer to achieve the “Golden Slam.” Following a career which saw her amass 21 LPGA victories and over 31 professional wins globally, Park was inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame in 2016.
Off the course, Park has served as member of the IGF Athletes Committee and at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games stood for election to the IOC Athletes Commission as the nominee of the Korean Olympic Committee. In her role on the IGF Board, Park will contribute to the growth and development of golf globally using her unique experience and perspective as an Olympian and one of the sports most accomplished female athletes.
“Drawing on my experience, I hope to contribute to the continued global development of golf by strengthening the Olympic brand of the sport, developing youth talent and support programs, and promoting the game’s accessibility—areas that I have always cared deeply about,” said Park.
Huyskes began her extensive career in corporate finance and capital markets at MeesPierson before moving to ABN AMRO in South Africa as a Manager in Structured and Project Finance. She then worked as Director of Corporate Finance at F. van Lanschot Bankiers, followed by a 13-year tenure as Partner at private equity firm Egeria. Since 2016, she has been self-employed in Hilversum, advising and serving on supervisory boards for various Dutch family offices and businesses.
"I am truly honoured to join the IGF Board. I look forward to serving this distinguished role over the coming six years and to contributing forward to the development and success of our wonderful sport of golf, especially in areas such as golf development, elite amateur pathways and young professionals, as well as environmental sustainability,” said Huyskes.
Huyskes has been deeply involved in golf at national and international levels for over four decades and is a past President of the European Golf Association. Within the Netherlands Golf Federation, she has served in multiple leadership roles, including President and Treasurer, and was elected Honorary Member in 2024. Her involvement ranges from board-level governance to team captaincy, having led the Dutch Senior Ladies and Junior teams, and she was herself a member of the national team from 1983 to 1992.
