Born in Düsseldorf, she began playing golf at age five during family vacations to golf resorts around Europe. At 17 she joined the German National Team and at 18 won the German National Girls Championship. Now lives in Florida, where she had attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, winning four events and receiving All-American honours in addition to graduating with a bachelor’s degree in advertising. In her fourth season on the LPGA Tour after turning pro, she won her first event at the Kia Classic in 2011. Finished a career-best third in the US Women’s Open the following season.
