Born in Waterford, Power won the Irish Youths Championship twice as a promising amateur then played college golf at East Tennessee State University, where he won three times including the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in 2007 and 2010. After graduating from ETSU, Power played on mini-tours while attempting to qualify for the Web.com Tour. Won twice on the 2014 eGolf Professional Tour, a third-level tour. He earned his 2015 Web.com Tour card through the Qualifying School. Collected two top-10 finishes on that Tour and finished 72nd on the money list to secure a card for 2016. Claimed his first Web.com Tour win in May, winning the United Leasing & Finance Championship, becoming the first Irish player to triumph on the Web.com Tour.
