Shiv Chawrasia
India (IND)
Inspired by his father, the greenkeeper at Calcutta Golf Club where, aged ten, he used to practise by sneaking onto the historic course. Subsequently became a caddie, before embarking on a playing career in 1997. Small in stature but blessed with a huge heart, Shiv Sankar Prasad – or SSP as he is universally known - created European Tour history in 2008 by becoming the first player to win on his maiden appearance as an Affiliate Member when he triumphed on home soil at the inaugural Indian Masters in Dehli. Added a second European Tour victory in his native country in the 2011 Avantha Masters and notched win number three at the 2016 Indian Open, a year after he had lost out to compatriot Anirban Lahiri in a play-off for the same title.
