One of five sisters, she started playing golf at the age of 12. Saw tournament golf for the first time in 2000 when she attended the European Tour’s Brazil Open in Rio de Janeiro. Her great-grandfather was a founder member of the course which hosted the event, Itanhanga Golf Club. Winner of a number of events in Brazil as an amateur, she attended Santa Barbara Community College, twice being on the team which won the Western State Conference Championship, before moving to the University of Southern California. Member of team which won the 2008 NCAA Womens’ Championship. Played on the Symetra Tour before joining the LET, where she has spent the last three seasons. Earned her maiden professional win in the inaugural event on the Spanish Santander Tour in April 2015. Loves surfing and playing guitar. Composed her own song to commemorate the Olympic Games in her home city.
